How much is the deposit?
In order to reserve The Scrap Nest, a deposit of $400.00 is required to reserve your stay. The remaining balance of the rental rate, sales tax, cleaning fee and $400 refundable security deposit, is due 15 days prior to check in. The refundable security deposit will be refunded within two weeks of the departure date assuming there are no damages.
What do we need to bring?
Guests need to bring food, drinks and snacks. The kitchen has everything necessary to prepare and serve meals. Also provided are bed linens, towels (bath, hand and wash), a limited supply of paper products (toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags) and cleaning supplies (dishwashing liquid, dishwasher and washing machine tablets). Also provided are bath and hand soaps however guests will need to bring their own personal items (e.g. shampoo, conditioner, body wash, etc.).
For your convenience, a general store is located on the resort, a Dollar General less than a mile outside of the resort and a Food Lion is located approximately 5 miles away in Elkton. Additional grocery stores as well as other shopping, i.e. Walmart, Target, etc. is located 20 minutes away in Harrisonburg.
What crafting supplies do we need to bring?
You will want to bring most of your supplies. The crop room supplies each crafter with a 6'x3' table, rolling padded adjustable chair, large craft mat, Ott light, cupholder and trash can. There is also a Cricut machine with some Cricut cartridges available for your use although you will need to provide your own cutting mat. A laser printer is also available.
Both Michaels and Hobby Lobby craft stores are located in Harrisonburg approximately 20 minutes from the resort should you need any additional crafting supplies during your stay.
What restaurants are nearby?
There are several restaurants within 5 miles of the resort and even a greater selection of restaurants located 20 minutes away in Harrisonburg. The local Dominos as well as one our favorite restaurants, Romano's Italian Bistro (www.romanositalianbistro.com), will deliver to the house. There is a guest book with menus and directions to local restaurants.
Where can I get a massage?
We recommend the Spa at Massanutten Resort. Located across the street from the entrance to the resort, the spa offers facials, manicures, pedicures and waxing services in addition to massages. Go to https://www.massresort.com/relax/ for more information or call (540) 289-4040.
What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in is at 2:00 pm on the arrival date and check-out is 4:00 pm on the departure date.
Who do I contact if I have any issues during my stay?
The Scrap Nest has a local property manager on call to handle any maintenance issues. You may also call or text us directly at 703-599-6342 if the property manager is unable to resolve any issues.
If a guest wishes to cancel their reservation the cancellation must be in writing or via e-mail, payments will be refunded as follows:
50% of Rent/Reservation deposit paid if cancelled at least 30 days prior to the Check-in Date
0% of Rent/Reservation deposit paid if cancelled less than 30 days prior to the Check-in Date
Any payments made for the Security Deposit or Cleaning Fee are fully refundable
Smoking and pet policy
Neither pets nor smoking are allowed anywhere on the property, which includes the house, decks and grounds. No exceptions allowed.
ALL surfaces (tables, craft mats, flooring, decking, etc.) MUST be covered before using sprays paints inks, or shellacs in order to avoid charges against your security deposit.
Any tables that have been rearranged are to be put back to their original configuration before you leave as our housecleaning crew will not do this. This also applies to chairs, cupholders, trash cans and power strips.
Be respectful of the craft room and its contents. We understand accidents happen and/or things break. Let us know immediately so we can replace it.
